Venice, Italy

Canal Grande VeniceVenice, Italy: Venice is one of my favourite city break destinations in Europe. I have been there several times, whether it is spring or autumn it is always charming. Here are my recommendations for a perfect weekend escape.

Where to stay in Venice:

Hotel Danieli, Venice
A gorgeous venetian style palace, built in 14th century, was once a home for Doge Dandolo’s family. The hotel is one of the most beautiful buildings in Venice and  just few steps away from Piazza San Marco, the centre of Venice.  http://www.venice-hotel-danieli.com/

Piazza San Marco - VeniceHotel Cipriani, Venice
Perfect escape from Venice and just a few minutes boat drive from San Marco, this beautiful hotel offers a great stay for a city break or longer holiday. http://www.hotelcipriani.com/

Where to eat in Venice:
Fortuny Restaurant, Hotel Cipriani. The food is delicious and the atmosphere very stylish.

Stop for drinks:
Harry’s bar – this is the place where Bellini was discovered…

Murano Glass factory
Small shops selling leather bags, shoes and gloves,
Il Papiro: hand made papers and cards

How to get there:
You can fly from most of the European cities. If you are already in Italy, it is quite convenient to travel by train to Venice.

Best time to be there:
